MODIC by MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL
By incorporating a polar group into the nonpolar polyolefin, a capability for adhesion between different materials was created, thus making this material. It adheres to polyamide, EVOH, polyester, metal, polyolefin, etc.
MODIC®’s excellent adhesive properties and ease of processing enable its use in a variety of applications including coextruded films, multilayer bottles, multilayer tubes, extruded laminates, thermobond films, powder coating multilayers, and adhesives for the laminate field.
In addition to use as an adhesive for multilayer food containers and films, a MODIC™ grade is available for use as a material modification agent. It can improve composite material properties by making the polypropylene or other resin more compatible with other plastics, wood flour, inorganic fillers, etc.
